Prom Gowns

Never jump into the first decision without a second thought. You should always do three things: Stop, breath, and think. If you do these three things in a moment such as this then you are guaranteed to make a better prom dress decision than if you had just grabbed the credit card and went to town. The first impressions we receive are the initial indicators as to the direction we should go in, not the place where we should stop thinking and act! If we reacted on impulse for every decision we made where would the world be today? Even though it is only a dress, the bigger picture may involve your parents trust with their money, or the amount of common-sense and decisiveness you display when given a certain responsibility. There may be more details tied to your decision than you realize. So keep your head clear and your credit cards in check.

Body Shapes for Prom Dresses

Let's face it, no one is the perfect model size. That means prom dress alterations which may be time consuming are a necessary part of purchasing any prom dress if you want it to look perfect on you Taking the dress in or out: We highly suggest ordering bigger and taking in the dress. Whether you take the dress in 1" or 5" it is normally still the same price and it will look the same. However, if you have to let out a dress a few things may occur: 1) the fabric let out may contain pin holes 2) the extra seam allowance the designers normally leave in each dress may have been cut, and there may not be enough material to let it out.

The Perfect Prom Dress

Glittering embellishments such as beads, crystals and rhinestones can steer attention right to the parts that you want people to see. Elaborate designs on the bust area of your single-strapped prom gown or a chunky rhinestone inset at the center of your halter prom dress can work to make this design idea happen.

Prom Dress Body Shapes

Looking good has to do with dressing in an outfit that fits your body type perfectly. The reason why strapless prom gowns have become so popular is because they look good no matter what shape your body is. Depending on the cut and style of the entire dress, a bare-necked ensemble can flatter the athletic builds, the full-figured, the petite and the statuesque. The same cannot be said for prom dresses that offer more ’support.’

Prom Dress Details

When it comes to prom gowns, or any formal occasional outfit for the matter, every little detail counts. You will want to look your best during the fancy event. You do not want to stick out like a sore thumb, looking underdressed or overdressed. The worst case scenario is that you come out of your car wearing the ultimate fashion faux pas, and this is something we all want to avoid.
